About Oxspring

The rural civil parish of Oxspring is situated in the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley in South Yorkshire, England. The civil parish includes the hamlets of Clays-Green, Roughbirchworth and Storrs.

At the 2001 census it had a population of 1,048, increasing to 1,225 at the 2011 census and 1,196 in the 2021 census.

Oxspring is a small but growing village community of around 500 households nestling in the eastern foothills of the Pennines a short journey from Barnsley and the M1. Sheffield, Wakefield, Leeds and Manchester are all within a 30 miles radius.

Announcements

 

Oxspring Community Day 4th July

The Oxspring Green Champions (Formally the Titivators) are organising a day for local residents to help out with jobs around the village. These vary from weeding, litter picking, cleaning and generally improving our local environment.

There will be two starting times at 10:30 & and 1:30 pm

Come along to St Aidans and find what is available and where, one of our volunteers will be based at each location.

Please do bring with you some gloves and basic tools. I.e. trowel/fork/Secateurs or some soapy water and cleaning cloths.
